Welcome to North Berkeley
North Berkeley is on the East Shore of SF Bay. It’s considered one of the most socially liberal cities in the US. The University of California Berkeley was founded in 1868 and has a long-standing record of activism. Many architects who attended UCB stayed in town and designed beautiful homes. Some notables are Bernard Maybeck and Julia Morgan. In 1923 there was a fire that destroyed many structures. But homes were rebuilt and today the neighborhoods are intact.
